What’s your Trigger to Staying Healthy and Fit?

As an owner of a fitness centre, the biggest challenge is inspiring people to make permanent lifestyle adjustments that will keep them healthy and vital. BUT, it can be done! It’s so much more than working hard for 6 weeks to look good in a bathing suit. What is your trigger? What makes you want to be fit? Is it to have energy for life? Is it to prevent disease and aches and pains as you get older? Is it to look better in a bathing suit (that’s a great side effect)? Is it to be a good role model for your children so they know that real food and activity is just normal?

If you are making a resolution to get fit, I urge you to write down your “why”. Put it somewhere visible so you remember what your inspiration is on the days that you don’t feel motivated.

The other day I realized that our gym 24/7 NRG Fitness, formerly known as Fitness Force and prior to that known at Fitness Heaven has been operating in Georgina for 20 years! As I’m not the original owner I didn’t know the exact dates so I had to do a bit of digging. The truly amazing this is that there are members now, who were some of the original clients who joined 20 years ago.

This information leaves me with a couple of stories. First, I have a lot of respect for those clients who make regular fitness a part of their lifestyle. They made a commitment to themselves and have followed through with the actions to make it happen. If they’ve been regular fitness guru’s for 20 years or more, one can assume they will keep it up for life. That’s what we’re all after….a healthy life.

My second story about the 20 year anniversary is more about the business of this gym. It too, was started with a goal in mind and has transformed and revitalized itself over the years. Business has ups and downs….just like push ups! I have owned the gym for just over 9 years now and with our recent renovations I am totally revitalized – just like the facility. Business owners know that it’s hard work with lots of glory and lots of disappointment.

In the end our success is due to loyal clients who keep coming back and keep bringing in new clients—-AND great staff! I am very fortunate to have trainers and employees who have been part of this team for many years. Your support of our clients and of 24/7 NRG Fitness is essential and appreciated.

Thank you, thank you, thank you……….and I hope you will be one of our regular clients who make a real commitment to health and fitness.
