Here I am just days away from the grand opening of my new and improved gym called 24/7 NRG Fitness still right here in Keswick Ontario. It’s just as exciting as the days before taking over as the owner of Fitness Force; A great idea, new focus and huge expectations. The biggest thing that strikes me is how many incredible people with talent, ideas and expertise that have come together to help make this happen. The supporting people are different people from the Fitness Force business plan to the 24/7 NRG Fitness business plan. But the fact remains that I DID NOT do this alone. It has taken months of planning with experts in various fields, weeks of renovations and construction, days of waiting for all the bits and pieces to come together. Hours of brainstorming and minutes of….well, nothing only takes minutes. Suffice it to say, that this past year creating our new image has been busy and fascinating.
And so it begins again…..a new dream come true. Nearly 10 years ago I had that daydream “hey, I think I should own a gym”. It was incredible how strong that dream held on to me – so much so that I did buy a gym 10 months later. That’s the very short version of the story of course. You can get a copy of my book for the whole saga (I’m not joking!) There have been great successes and great challenges in the years since then. The industry has changed, our community has changed and I’ve changed too.
So what’s new?
Our brand new studio for group fitness classes is bright and motivating with all the equipment on hand for an awesome workout! We’ve installed a new sound system to keep the music pumping right along with your cardiovascular system.
Both the men’s and ladies locker rooms have been renovated, reconfigured and all new fixtures have been installed. There are new toilets, cubicles, sinks and showers. I know that doesn’t sound sexy, but new is new and those things are expensive.
Part of our strength training area has been reconfigured to make better use of space. That means more room for workouts and additional equipment.
Our reception area has moved to be more central in the gym allowing us to interact with everyone more effectively. This also allowed for better use of space in other areas.
Cosmetic improvements have made the whole facility brighter, cleaner and more inviting. Returning clients say “I don’t feel like it’s the same place”. So we accomplished a lot!
New equipment includes several dumbells, Olympic bars, punching bag, all new treadmills, 2 new arc trainers and 4 new Hoist strength machines.
Take a moment to browse the gallery of pictures of the gym!
And we have a brand new look for our website! Please take the time to browse through the pages and familiarize yourself with what we have to offer and meet our staff!
In my next blog I will thank all of the local companies who have taken part in the project. I want pics from the grand opening with them included.
For now a special thanks to the Fitness Force members who attended the focus group all those months ago to provide feedback and ideas. Many of those ideas have helped to create 24/7 NRG Fitness and the successful future ahead.
Out with the old. In with the new. We have changed. So can you! Stop by the club and check it out! You’ll find the map at the bottom of the page.
As always we welcome your feedback. Feel free to connect with me via telephone or email or leave a comment right here on the site.
Until next time,
